Just realized the moon landing footage had a lighting inconsistency I never noticed before

Wait, which lighting inconsistency are we talking about? I've watched those Apollo 11 videos a million times and never caught that. Like, is it the shadows thing where they point different directions? Or maybe the brightness on the lunar module is off compared to the ground? Man, now I'm gonna have to go back and stare at it for an hour (like I don't already have enough rabbit holes to fall down). That's wild though, I thought they checked every single detail on those missions.

Man, that shadows thing gets me every time. I remember sitting in my buddy's basement back in like 2005, we had just bought a DVD set of all the Apollo missions and we were going frame by frame on his old CRT TV. @tyler_white42, you're right, they did check everything, but my old high school physics teacher used to say that with multiple light sources like the sun and the reflective lunar surface, the shadows can look all kinds of wrong. We spent a whole weekend trying to figure out if the flag was waving in a vacuum, turns out it was just the astronauts twisting the pole. Wild stuff.
