My late night rabbit hole on chemtrails vs normal plane trails

I used to think the chemtrail thing was pure nonsense, like flat earth level. Then last month I was bored at 2am and watched a doc about aerial spraying near Sacramento, and now I can't stop noticing how some jet trails hang around for hours while others vanish in a minute. I get the science about altitude and humidity, but the persistence difference seems way too extreme to just be weather. Has anyone else actually tracked trail lifetimes over a week or two, or am I just seeing patterns that aren't there?

That "persistence difference seems way too extreme" part really hit me too. I read a piece from the NOAA once that said some high cirrus clouds made by planes can actually spread out and act like a blanket, which is why they linger, but low ones just fall apart fast. So it might be less about chemicals and more about the plane being up high enough to leave a trail in the right kind of air, which honestly makes the sky a lot more interesting to watch anyway.
