Bleaching my own roots took 4 tries before I got it right
I've been doing hair for 6 years, but when I tried to touch up my own roots at home last month, it was a disaster. First attempt gave me banding because I missed a whole section near my crown, and the second one left my scalp angry for two days. By the third try I had orange spots, and it wasn't until the fourth attempt that I finally got an even lift using foils instead of just slapping the bleach on. Turns out my problem was rushing the saturation and not checking the back with a mirror in natural light. I ended up spending 5 hours total on what usually takes me 45 minutes on a client. Has anyone else struggled this bad doing their own hair, or am I just the only one who can't work on herself?

Did you catch that video where that stylist broke down how doing your own back sections is basically impossible without a second mirror setup? I swear, the crown is cursed, no matter how many years you've been doing other people's hair.
