For 5 years I was sectioning hair wrong and a client finally called it out
I've been doing foils for ages but always struggled with heavy density in the back. Last Tuesday a client said 'you keep dropping that section, are you ok?' and that's when I realized my clips were causing the problem. I was grabbing too much hair per weave, like 3/4 inch when I should have been doing thinner slices. Switched to 1/4 inch sections with a rat tail comb and the pattern finally lays flat. Has anyone else had that moment where a client notices your technique issue before you do?

Damn, 3/4 inch per weave?? That's wild, I would've never thought that was the issue but it makes total sense, like you must've been fighting that back section for so long. It's crazy how a client can spot what we've been blind to for years, guess fresh eyes really do catch everything. Glad you found it though, that flat pattern probably feels like a whole new world.
