New client with scalp psoriasis booked a bleach retouch, need advice on how to handle it
Last Thursday a woman called the salon asking for a full bleach out and tone, said she wanted to go platinum for her sister's wedding in June. When she came in for the consult I saw flaky patches behind her ears and along her hairline, and she mentioned her dermatologist just diagnosed her with scalp psoriasis two months ago. I told her I wasn't comfortable putting 30 volume on irritated skin and she got quiet, then asked if I could just work around the patches. Have any of you dealt with this? Do I push her toward a color-depositing gloss or gloss to lowlight instead, or is there a barrier cream anyone trusts for bleach services on sensitive scalps?
