PSA: found a bobby pin taped inside my clipper guard and it fixed my fade lines
Had a guy in my chair last Tuesday at the shop in Boise who wanted a skin fade, and I kept getting these faint lines on the transition no matter how many times I went back over it. I checked my blade, cleaned it twice, swapped to a fresh guard, same thing. Then I grabbed one of those bobby pins off my station, taped it flat along the edge of the guard with a strip of masking tape, and ran it through one more time. Lines were gone. Turns out the guard had a tiny warp from the sanitizer bath and the pin gave it just enough lift to sit level against the head. Been doing it for about three weeks now and it still works every time. Anyone else rig up something stupid off their station that ended up becoming a permanent part of their kit?
