Shoutout to the stylist who pointed out my sectioning was making my balayage muddy

She showed me how my sections were too thick, which explained why my blends in Omaha last month looked so streaky. Anyone have a favorite sectioning comb for that?

Oh man, that makes total sense. I had the same problem last year, my blends were coming out so patchy and I couldn't figure out why. My sections were way too big, so the color wasn't moving through the hair right. I switched to making much smaller, cleaner sections and it was a total game changer. I just use a basic fine-tooth comb from the beauty supply, nothing special. It forces me to take my time and be neat.

Wait you were using big sections for blending? That's wild, I could never make that work.

Honestly, it's all about control. A big section just can't hold enough tension for a clean blend. What size sections did you try when it wasn't working for you? I'm curious if we ran into the same wall. For me, anything wider than my comb was a total disaster.
