inI finally listened to my dive buddy about the harbor current in Tacoma
Totally agree with that. Charts don't show how the wind really swirls around a certain point or where the weird current sets in on an outgoing tide. My uncle could put his hand in the water and tell you what the bottom was like, stuff you'd never get from a depth reading. That kind of local knowledge is worth more than any fancy tech.

inRemember when everyone said to book flights on a Tuesday?
Isn't it like how every life hack gets outdated?

inCan we talk about how my nephew's comment on my old mud pan made me feel ancient
Before he was born" is the part that got me. So what? My dad's tape measure is older than me and it works fine. It's a tool, not a museum piece. If it gets the job done, who cares if it looks old? Feeling ancient over a mud pan seems like looking for a reason to feel old.

inAn old guy at the Montana fair told me my toe clips were too short.
Absolutely. Had a similar thing with wire nuts on a big lighting job. An old-timer watched me twist one on and just said "You're not filling the skirt, kid." Started using the next size up for the ground wires and suddenly my connections weren't coming loose in the ceiling anymore.

inShoutout to the stylist who pointed out my sectioning was making my balayage muddy
Honestly, it's all about control. A big section just can't hold enough tension for a clean blend. What size sections did you try when it wasn't working for you? I'm curious if we ran into the same wall. For me, anything wider than my comb was a total disaster.
