Update: the $90 hood dryer at Sally's outperformed my $400 salon one on a curly client and I'm honestly mad about it
My main hood dryer died on a Tuesday morning with a full book, so I ran to Sally's in Fort Worth and grabbed the $90 gold one just to get through the day. I used it on a client with 3C curls who normally sits 45 minutes under my fancy one, and she was fully dry in 30, which never happens with her hair. The airflow on the cheap one is way more even across the whole hood instead of blasting one spot, and now I barely touch the expensive unit. Anyone else find a budget tool that just embarrasses your pro gear, and did you actually switch for good?
