Honestly, this old timer in a Buffalo yard told me 'you don't lift the load, you guide the crane' and it stuck with me.

My grandpa said something just like that about driving a forklift. It really is a different way of thinking.

My uncle drove a forklift at a lumber yard for 30 years. He always said you have to see the weight and balance in your head before you even touch the controls. It's a skill that just becomes part of how you move.
