Stuck waiting for a stamp while the crew stands around

Had a big lift planned for Monday morning. The crane was ready, but the safety guy needed a form signed. That form sat on someone's desk for hours. We all just waited, costing the project time and cash. This red tape is out of control.

Actually, the safety check is fine, it's the waiting that kills us.

That waiting part feels like modern life now, everything is just queues and loading screens.

But here is the thing, are we even sure the safety check does anything? It feels like a lot of that stuff is just for show, to make us feel like something is happening while we wait. They make you take off your shoes at the airport but the real threats get through other ways. So we are waiting for a show, not for real safety. Does that make the wait feel even more pointless to you?
