Warning: spent 5 hours chasing a swing brake issue on a Kobelco that turned out to be a $9 relay
Had a Kobelco SK350 at a site in Baton Rouge that would drag its swing brake for about 3 seconds after I let off the lever, and the operator kept complaining it felt mushy. I pulled the swing motor, checked pressures, bled the circuit twice, and even swapped the brake solenoid thinking it was sticking. Turned out the brake release relay in the cab panel was failing when it got warm, so it kept sending juice after the pedal came up. Five hours of wrenching for a $9 part I found by accident when I bumped the panel and heard it click. Anybody else got a go-to trick for catching electrical gremlins before you start pulling hydraulic lines?
