TIL the best feedback I ever got on a draft was just a guy at a laundromat in Toledo saying 'I lost track of who was talking'
He read the first two pages while his clothes dried and that one line sent me back to give every character a name tag moment, so now I always test dialogue on strangers before I post it here, and I'm wondering if anyone else does the read-it-to-a-random-person thing or if that's just me?
