I thought my friend was nuts for putting tape over his laptop camera

He told me about a talk he saw at a conference in Austin where a guy showed how easy it is to hack a webcam. I figured it was just fear stuff, but then I read a report last month that said over 15% of malware now tries to access cameras. So I cut a tiny piece of black electrical tape and stuck it on. It's been there for a year and I don't even notice it. Anyone else do this simple thing or think it's overkill?

That little smiley face is a nice touch lol. I had a roll with a small star printed on the backing and it made the whole job feel less boring. Honestly, finding those tiny details in my tools or supplies just puts me in a better mood while I work. It's a small thing but it makes the task way more pleasant.
