I mean I was that person who had a backpack on at all times, laptop, charger, water bottle, a jacket I never wore, snacks, the whole thing. Last spring I was waiting on a delayed flight out of Denver and this older guy next to me watched me dig through it three separate times just to find my boarding pass. He didn't say anything mean, he just asked how long I thought I spent looking for stuff in there each day, and I honestly couldn't answer him. So on the plane I actually timed it, and I was digging around for a total of like 11 minutes over a few hours, which sounds small but it added up to over an hour every week. That night I dumped everything out on my kitchen table and realized half of it hadn't been touched in 6 months, two dead pens, an old phone cable, a lighter I don't even use. Now I carry a small sling with a wallet, keys, one pen, and my phone, and the backpack only comes out for actual travel. Has anyone else done a full dump of their carry and been shocked at what was in there?
