My kid said my 'win' of fixing a slow drain wasn't really a win

I was telling my son about clearing a slow kitchen sink at a job today, feeling good about it. He just shrugged and said, 'That's your job, Dad. It's not a win, it's just work.' I had to stop and think. I always saw fixing something, even a small thing, as a win because it helps someone. Maybe he's right that I should save the word 'win' for bigger stuff, but it still feels good to solve a problem. Do you think a small win has to be outside your normal routine?

Oh man, that reminds me of my buddy who's a teacher. He was so pumped when he finally got this one kid to understand fractions. It's his job, sure, but that's a total win. Like what @the_daniel said, the small fixes matter.

Yeah @the_wendy, I felt that way when I finally found my keys.

Ever fix a squeaky door at home and feel like a hero for a minute? That's a win to me.
