TIL my old iPod Nano still holds a charge after 15 years

Damn, that's wild. My dad still uses the same cordless drill he bought in the late 90s. Thing is built like a tank, ugly beige plastic and all. The battery is totally shot, but it works fine plugged into the wall. He refuses to get a new one because it just won't quit. Makes all the new stuff feel cheap.

Question about a flour delivery that went really wrong last Tuesday

I mean, that's rough but I gotta say I always check the flour myself when it comes in. The bags might say bread flour but I'll open one and feel it before it goes into storage. Cake flour is so much softer, it's like powder compared to bread flour. Maybe it's just me but after one bad batch I'd be testing the flour directly, not just trusting the label.

My agency had to pick between a $5k monthly retainer or a per-project fee for a new client

Yeah I saw a post about this... basically said to have a clear "menu" of add-on prices ready before you even start. So when they ask for something extra, you can just point to that list right away.

Everyone swears by the new ceramic foam filters for our gray iron pours.

Ten minutes longer? That's a huge difference.

This old house in Springfield had a floor that fought me for a whole day

Seriously, that combo is a ticking time bomb for moisture. Particle board acts like a sponge and swells up, but plywood stays pretty stable. They'll expand and contract at totally different rates with any humidity change. You're gonna get weird bumps, soft spots, and your floor covering will fail no matter what you put over it. The only real fix is to rip it all out and start with one solid material.
