Took my dog to the park and saw a kid get his kite stuck in a tree

I was at Miller Park this afternoon, just letting my dog sniff around. Saw this little guy, maybe 7 years old, trying to fly a cheap plastic kite. The wind caught it wrong and it got tangled way up in an oak branch. He looked so defeated, just staring up at it. I walked over and asked if he wanted a boost. I'm tall, so I lifted him onto my shoulders and he managed to reach the string and pull it free. The way his face lit up when he got it back... it wasn't about the kite. It was that someone stopped to help. Made me remember how small acts feel huge when you're that age. What's a small, kind thing you've seen someone do lately that just made the day better?

Aw, that reminds me of my neighbor fixing a tipped-over trash can.

Did your neighbor do it quietly or make a big show of it?
