My old cofounder called me last month and his two words killed my next idea before I built it
Talked to my old cofounder Dan on the phone last month. We shut down our last thing in 2022 after burning $340k over 19 months. He asked what I was building next and I pitched him the whole thing for ten minutes. He went quiet and just said 'who pays?' That was it. Two words. I couldn't answer him. We had 4 beta users and zero of them had ever been asked for a credit card. I was about to write code for 6 months on an idea nobody had paid a dollar for. Has anyone else had a friend wreck their plan with one line like that?
