The pivot is overrated, my product died because I listened to advisors

Everyone in this sub talks about failing to pivot as the big mistake, but my startup in Austin failed because I pivoted too fast. We had 600 paying users at $15 a month for a scheduling tool, then a VC friend told me to chase enterprise and we lost half our base in 8 weeks. I think the real lesson is knowing when your small but loyal market is actually your win, not a stepping stone. Has anyone else killed a working product chasing a bigger one from advice?
