Figured out why my injectors kept failing after a trip to the truck stop

I was down in Laredo last month helping a buddy with a Cummins ISX that kept dropping a cylinder. After swapping injectors twice I finally checked the fuel filters and they were packed with this fine black grit. Turns out the pump at that little station off I-35 has a bad tank liner that flakes off. Now I carry a bore scope everywhere and check filters before I even start diagnosing. Has anyone else run into tank liner problems messing up fuel systems?

Oh man, you're bringing back bad memories! I had a '95 Dodge with a 12-valve that kept eating lift pumps and I finally found the same black grit in the tank. It was like the inside of the tank was just shedding like a snake. I ended up dropping the tank and lining it myself with that POR-15 kit. Took a whole weekend but no filter issues since.

POR-15 is the only way to go, that DIY kit saved me the same headache on my F-250.
