Hot take: caught a fuel filter swap gone wrong and the before/after on the fuel rail sensor was night and day
Pulled a 2016 Ram 2500 into the bay on Thursday because the owner said it was limping and blowing black haze. Somebody had slapped a cheap aftermarket filter on it 8 months back and never bled the housing right, so air kept chewing the rail sensor. Swapped in a fresh OEM filter, purged the lines, and within 20 minutes the rail pressure steadied out at 26k psi and the haze cleared. That sensor had gone from reading erratic spikes to flat as a board. Anybody else seeing a run on these cheap filters killing sensors later, or is it just my side of town?
