My injector puller finally bit the dust on a 6.0 in the middle of a job

Was working on a 2004 F-250 yesterday out in Bakersfield. This old 6.0 had a stuck injector that just would not budge. I've had the same OTC puller for like 8 years, never let me down. But this time the threads stripped right out on the slide hammer. Took me two hours to rig up a pry bar and a chain from an old hoist to get that thing out. Had to make a new tool setup on the spot. No parts store within 45 minutes had one in stock either. Ended up ordering a Mac one for $185 that should be here Friday. Anyone else had a favorite tool just fail at the worst possible time? What did you switch to?

Heard about a guy whose whole setup just gave up on him mid job, so frustrating.
