Swore I'd never run a tuner on a tow rig, then a guy in Casper changed my mind
Always figured a tune on a stock 6.7 was asking for trouble on a truck that pulls a 12k trailer every weekend. Then a guy named Daryl at a truck stop outside Casper got me into his shop and showed me his logs, 40k miles of towing with a mild tow tune and EGTs staying under 1250 the whole time. The part that got me was him saying he pulls Laramie pass loaded every month and his trans never hunted once, which is the exact thing I was scared of. Now I'm half convinced a conservative tune is easier on the truck than the stock shift schedule, has anyone run a tow tune long term and seen trans issues or not?
