I posted my messy 20 minute speed sculpt to a showcase and it got more love than the piece I spent 30 hours on
Posted a rough blob of a creature I made in Blender on a whim at 1am, and it pulled 4x the likes of the polished render I slaved over for a contest in March. Now I'm wondering if clean lighting and detail actually scares people off, or if I just got lucky with the algorithm that night. Anyone else had a throwaway piece beat their best work?
