Notice how it always looks like wet plastic? Wonder if it's just a lazy trend or if there's some tutorial everyone watched. Seems like every artist found the same filter and won't let go.

Can't even lie, my last three pieces have that exact wet plastic shine. I tell myself it adds depth but really I just found a layer style that looks finished fast. Maybe we all watched the same tutorial and got scared to turn the effect off?

Actually, that shiny layer can be a useful tool to help tie together flat colors.
