Two years ago I packed 6 pairs of jeans for Chiang Mai, now I live out of a 28L bag
Back in 2023 I dragged a 65L backpack plus a carry on through Bangkok and paid 900 baht in overweight fees at the airport because I packed for a life I wasn't living. Last month I did 4 countries with just a 28L bag and a laptop sleeve, and honestly the turning point was watching a guy in a Da Nang hostel re pack his whole life in 10 minutes while I was still hunting for a single sock. So what's the one thing you still refuse to leave behind no matter how small your bag gets?
Ha, 900 baht in overweight fees is a cheap lesson compared to some stories I have heard. But come on, is a 28L bag really the goal here, or are we just competing to see who can suffer more on laundry day? Most people I know who went super tiny ended up rebuying half their stuff in country, which kind of kills the whole point.
