That one perfect week in Medellin that ruined every other destination for me

I had a streak last June where everything just clicked. Monday I found a coworking spot right across from my apartment with 100mbps internet for $80 a month. Wednesday I hiked Piedra del Peñol and was back at my laptop by 2pm with zero lag on client calls. By Friday I had closed three projects because the time zone worked perfectly with US clients. Saturday night I spent $12 on a steak dinner that would have cost $60 in the states. But now every place I go feels slow or expensive compared to that week. Has anyone else had a single location just ruin your expectations for everywhere else?

Shoutout to the guy in the Lisbon coworking space who saved my week

I was in Lisbon last month working from a coworking space near the Time Out Market. There was this older French guy at the next table who noticed I was staring at my laptop screen for almost an hour without typing a word. He leaned over and said, "You look like you are trying to force the words out with your eyes." I laughed but he was right. I was stuck on a project report for a client back home and nothing was flowing. He told me to step outside and walk around the block twice without looking at my phone. So I did. When I came back I wrote the whole thing in 45 minutes. It sounds simple but getting away from the screen for just those few minutes broke the block. Has anyone else had a stranger in a coworking spot give you advice that actually worked?

Tried coworking in Bali for 3 months and my productivity tanked

I packed up my laptop and spent 90 days in Ubud thinking I'd get more done with the ocean views and cheap smoothie bowls.
