Appreciation post: the ramp at my local library in Boise finally got fixed and I get why it matters
I used to figure ramps and automatic doors were mostly for wheelchairs, and that nobody would miss one if it was busted for a bit. Then two weeks ago I watched a mom with a stroller and a guy with a walker both get stuck at the same broken door at the Boise library on Capitol Blvd, and they had to go all the way around to the side entrance. That one afternoon showed me access stuff is not a niche thing, it is just basic stuff lots of people need. I flip flopped pretty hard on this and now I notice every cracked curb cut on my walk to work. What is the one spot in your town that still needs fixing?
