Filed a reasonable accommodation request in 12 words instead of 3 pages and HR answered in 2 days
I used to send long, careful emails to HR explaining my disability and asking for a flexible schedule, and they would sit for weeks with no reply. Last month I tried something new: one short email that just said what I needed, when I needed it, and the exact law that backed it up. Two days later I had approval in writing, and my coworker in Dallas got the same result using my template. I think the long stories gave them room to debate, while the short one gave them nothing to push back on. Has anyone else found that shorter accommodation requests get faster answers, or did I just get lucky with this one?
