My neighbor was right about Park Tool tire levers being worth the money

I spent years using cheap plastic levers from the hardware store that snapped every time I tried to get a tight tire off a rim. My neighbor Bob told me to just buy the Park Tool TL-5 set at $9 for three. I ignored him for like two years. Last week I had a flat on my commuter bike and broke two levers in a row. Finally ordered the Park ones and they slid that stubborn Continental tire off in under a minute. Has anyone else found a specific tool that made them totally change their approach to a basic repair?
