inMy brand new bandsaw blade snapped after 3 hours of use on Monday
I used to be the same way, thinking more tension meant a cleaner cut. I had a similar thing happen with a 14 inch bandsaw cutting through a frozen pork belly. Cranked it to 40 psi and it snapped after about an hour. Totally changed my mind. Now I just follow the manual exactly, even if it feels loose. That $45 lesson was enough for me.

inDiscovered a simple plywood trick for sidewalk joints
Honestly, that's a solid trick and it lines up with a bigger pattern I've noticed. So many problems in life just come down to having the right guide or jig, not the most expensive tool. Whether it's cutting concrete or painting a straight line, a simple straightedge always makes the outcome way cleaner.

inFound a trick for smooth slewing on windy days in Seattle
@blair_gibson78 You've got it, just keep that tarp tight on the corners or it'll flap like crazy.

inAm I the only one who used to skip torque checks on landing gear bolts?
15 ft-lbs under on a 737 brake bolt. That's insane. Those are critical structure, not just some panel screw. One hard landing and that could walk right out. I saw a guy do the same thing on a C-130 nose gear. He was 20 years in. Humility hits everyone eventually.
