Vent: 42 tubes of patch glue later and I finally counted why my flats keep coming back
I keep a log of every flat I fix at my shop bench in Sacramento. Last Tuesday I hit flat number 42 for the summer and noticed 31 of them were pinch flats, not punctures. I was patching the tube and sending folks out with the same low pressure that caused it. Now I check psi before I even pull the wheel. Anyone else find out their fix was treating the wrong problem?

That line about "patching the tube and sending folks out with the same low pressure" hits home hard. I went through the same thing at my place, spent a whole spring blaming goatheads and glass when most of my comebacks were just underinflated tires pinching on the rim. Started writing the psi on the ticket when a bike came in and the number of return flats dropped off a cliff. Took me way too long to figure out I was fixing the symptom and not the cause. Now I air up every tire before I even touch the wheel, takes ten seconds and saves me a whole repair. Feels dumb in hindsight but you can't fix what you never checked.
