PSA: Stop painting your garden gnomes with cheap craft store acrylics

I have 3 gnomes on my back porch that look like they melted in the sun after one summer because the paint couldn't handle UV rays. Spend the $8 on exterior grade paint or just leave them unpainted like I do now, has anyone else dealt with this peeling nightmare?

Oh man, I was totally guilty of this with my first gnome. I figured paint was paint and grabbed whatever was on sale at the craft store... big mistake. After one rainy season he looked like a sad, drippy mess with his face just sliding off. Now I buy the stuff that says "exterior" right on the front and it finally stays put.

Wait, are we really out here using craft store paint on stuff that lives outside? I learned that lesson the hard way too when my gnome looked like a horror movie victim after one summer. Seriously just spend the extra few bucks or don't bother painting them at all lol.
