A vendor at Fan Expo Dallas told me my Worbla chest piece was 'too clean' and it changed how I build
Was working a con in Dallas last month and this older prop maker stopped at my table. She looked at my Worbla armor for about 10 seconds and said it read as plastic because every edge was sanded smooth. I had spent 14 hours getting those seams perfect. She pulled out her phone and showed me her own build where she intentionally left gouges and dents, then brushed in dark brown acrylic so the scratches looked like real wear. Tried it on a bracer when I got home and it looked 10 times better than the clean version sitting next to it. So now I rough up edges with 60 grit before priming and I do a black wash in every dent. Anyone else get a critique at a con that made them change their whole process?
