My daughter knocked my C-3PO helmet off the shelf and it cracked right across the faceplate
So last weekend my 6 year old bumped the shelf while chasing the dog and my helmet came down hard on the garage floor. The faceplate split clean in two pieces and I just stood there staring at it for a minute. I ended up using some 5 minute epoxy on the back side and then Bondo glazing putty over the seam, let it cure overnight, and sanded it with 400 grit this morning. It is holding but I can still see the line under the gold paint, so I am wondering if I should just strip it and redo the whole thing or try spot filling again. Has anyone fixed a cracked resin piece without it showing through the final coat?
