Dropped $110 on a soldering station for one controller, no regrets

Back when I started modding PS4 pads I used a $12 pencil iron from the hardware store in Fresno and burned through two ribbon cables and a whole set of button contacts before I gave up and spent real money. The temp control on the new one meant the solder flowed clean the first try instead of me guessing and cooking the board. Anyone else remember waiting a full minute for a cheap iron to heat back up between joints?
