DAE accidentally turn their bathroom into a sauna with one can of spray foam?

So last Saturday I decided to seal the gap around my tub with a $7 can of Great Stuff and didn't read that it expands 3x its size. It oozed out, cured rock hard, and I spent 2 hours with a chisel trying to free my own drain pipe while my cat watched like I was the dumbest person alive. Anyone know a trick to keep this stuff from ballooning before I try round two?
