DAE think vero board builds look better than a fancy PCB layout?
I posted a pic of my vero board fuzz build on another forum and a guy said "that rats nest will hum like crazy, just order a real PCB." I ignored him at first, but then I boxed it up and sure enough it hummed so bad it was unusable at band practice in my garage. So I took his advice on one thing only, I twisted every signal wire tight with its ground return and kept runs under 3 inches. The hum dropped to almost nothing, like 90 percent gone, and I never did buy a PCB. Now I still use stripboard for everything because I can mod values in 10 minutes instead of waiting on shipping from China. Do you all twist your wires or is that overkill for low gain stuff like a boost pedal?
