My lacquer cutting angle was off for 2 years, a mastering engineer caught it in 5 seconds

I kept getting this weird sibilance on vocals no matter what EQ I tried, but Keith from the shop in Austin looked at my stylus once and asked if I ever checked the vertical tracking angle on my own cuts. Since I recalibrated with a cheap USB microscope last month, my highs finally sound like the test presses I used to chase. Anyone else trusted the factory setup too long and found out the hard way?
