Building codes in Ohio made me redo a whole wall last Tuesday

I found out our county requires fire blocking every 10 feet in stud bays, even for interior garage walls. That detail was buried in the 2024 Ohio Residential Code update, not the local handout I grabbed. Cost me an extra 4 hours and about $60 in lumber because I had already closed it up. Has anyone else gotten burned by a code clause that the inspector never mentioned until the walkthrough?
