Drew the same wall in 2D and 3D for a client in Reno, and I picked the wrong one
Last month I had a small job for a guy building a shop on his property outside Reno. He asked for the elevations as simple 2D line drawings, but I pushed for a quick 3D model instead because I thought it would sell the design better. I went with 3D, and I spent about 6 extra hours getting all the trim and window depth to read right. When I sent it over, he called me confused because he could not pull measurements off it. He builds cabinets for a living, so he wanted flat views with clear numbers, not a pretty model. I redrew the whole thing in 2D in one evening, and he approved it the next morning. Honestly it stung a little, but the lesson was that his workflow mattered more than my preference. Anyone else get burned picking fancy over plain when the client only needed clear dims?
