Redline from a senior engineer changed how I layout ductwork now

Was working on a commercial kitchen hood setup back in March. Senior guy walks by, looks at my drawing for 10 seconds, and says "you're putting the exhaust too close to the intake, that's just recirculating grease." I had the diffusers like 3 feet apart. He made me space them 10 feet minimum. Now I always check proximity zones first. Anyone else had a simple comment like that totally rework their approach?

3 feet apart is basically asking for a grease fire.

Huh, you know what, I always thought you needed at least 4 or 5 feet to be safe... but now I'm second guessing myself. That's a good point about the grease.
