Talked to a pipefitter at my nephew's game and it changed how I draft

He said we both read the same blueprints, but he has to think about gravity and heat rising, which I never consider at my desk. Watching him trace a line with his finger and point out three clashes I missed in 10 seconds made me realize I should visit the shop floor more. Anyone else ever get humbled by a field guy who saw stuff the software never flagged?

Last Tuesday I watched a millwright eyeball a pump alignment and call it "close enough" before my laser tool said it was perfect. Software never tells you that the guy with the grimy hands and 20 years of scars is basically the real BIM model. Guess my next drafting session is happening in the parking lot with a pair of work boots on, lol.
