The moment my drafting table bolt snapped clean off at 2 AM on a Thursday night

Tried to tighten the tilt mechanism on my old drafting table and the bolt just gave way after 11 years of use, so I had to prop up the board with a stack of old phone books and finish the detail drawing for a client in Portland, has anyone else had their hardware just fail on them mid-project like that?

Maybe it's just me but "the bolt snapped clean off at 2 AM" sounds a bit dramatic for a hardware failure. I mean, you had phone books right there so it wasn't like the whole project went up in flames. Could have been a lot worse if you were using it as a step stool or something.
