Finally gave in on the dredge pump wear ring, glad I did

For the longest time I figured those composite wear rings were just a upsell, especially after the installed price on our 8-inch Ellicott was around $1,400. Last month we pulled the pump for routine maintenance on the Savannah River job and the bronze ring was shot, so I tried the composite just to avoid the lead time. Honestly the wear pattern after 210 hours looks way more even, and the pump is running smoother with less vibration. Has anyone else seen a real lifespan difference on the composite vs bronze? We run a lot of sandy water and I'm curious if I should just stick with this going forward.
