PSA: check your swing bearings before the morning start, learned that in Baltimore
Was cutting a channel through the Patapsco last Tuesday and around 6am the ladder started shaking way more than normal, like the whole swing was binding up. Turned out a bearing on the port side was shot and we were about 20 minutes from chewing up the trunnion. Shut her down, swapped the bearing with the spare we keep on the barge, and got back to digging by noon. Anybody else keep a full spare set on board or do you just call it and wait for the parts truck?
