Talked to a guy running a small suction dredge in Montana last week
He said he switched his whole operation to run on biodiesel about a year ago. I figured it would be a hassle and cost more, but he broke down the numbers for me. He said his fuel costs are down 15% and the engine runs cleaner, needing less upkeep. It made me think about how we get stuck doing things one way just because that's how we learned. Has anyone else here made a big switch like that with their fuel or equipment?

Ever feel like we're all just on autopilot sometimes? That guy's story makes you wonder what else we're missing out on.

That part about getting stuck doing things one way really hits home. I see it all the time with my neighbors and their lawn care. They all use the same gas mowers and chemical sprays because that's what they know, even when simpler options work fine.
