Vent: our suction line gained 14 feet of pipe without anyone logging it
Tbh I pulled the dredge log from 3 weeks back and the run measurement is flat wrong, we somehow picked up added length overnight that nobody wrote down. Is there any chance your crews document hose additions on the daily sheet or am I the only one chasing phantom footage?

Man, that brings back memories. We had the same thing happen on a 36 inch line a couple years back, turned out one of the night shift guys was adding 20 foot sticks to get better flow at the far end and just never told anyone. I started doing a quick tape measure check every Friday morning before the weekly report, just walking the whole run with a wheel counter. It takes twenty minutes but it caught three separate additions that nobody logged in the first month. Also, we made it a rule that the hose wagon stays locked unless the lead hand is there, so nobody can grab extra pipe without it going through the paperwork. Pain in the ass but beats chasing phantom footage on a Friday.
