Foreman told me to stop setting screws so deep, and my crack repairs dropped way off
I was on a 40 sheet job in Mesa back in March and my foreman, Ray, watched me run a row of screws and said I was burying them too far. He said the paper was breaking and that's why I kept getting little pops down the road. I counted and I was probably 1/8 inch past the surface on half my screws. He handed me a dimpler bit set shallow and I ran the rest of that ceiling with it. Went back 4 months later for a punch list and had zero screw pops on my side of the house. Any of you guys run your clutches that loose or do you just deal with the repairs later?
